About Chimenea fireplaces
Outdoor fireplaces are becoming more and more popular as a way for people to gather together and experience the outdoors without having to go camping or travel. Chimenea fireplaces are just one option to allow this experience. Chimenea fireplaces are the most common type of outdoor fireplaces and are made up of a base compartment with a single opening through to fuel the fire, and a short chimney or stack coming from the top. They are fueled using traditional wood, charcoal, or pressed wood log. A great appeal for chimenea fireplaces is that they are very portable and simple to clean and they make outdoor entertaining fun and convenient. Some chimineas have safety grills or pitched chimneys to prevent hot embers or glowing ash from floating away and posing a fire risk, while others are really nothing more than a firebox with a hole in the top. Whatever type of chiminea you may choose, you should only burn firewood inside of it. Other substances are known to release toxic chemicals when burned. Also be sure to follow any safety guidelines and operating instructions that appear in the owner’s manuals of all chimenea fireplaces.
