Down Flow Unit Heaters are generally used to create an air barrier against outdoor temperatures while improving energy efficiency, comfort and productivity. A wide variety of down flow heaters are available from slim, compact units that fit right above a doorway to heavy duty industrial units used to heat larger areas. Applications of these units include a primary, secondary or auxiliary heating source for use in factories, stores, garages, warehouses, public buildings, service stations, workshops, large or exposed areas and additions, just to name a few.The slim, compact units, generally mounted above a single or double door, provide warmth by blowing heat from above for customers / guests entering or exiting a business or residential space. They usually do not need to be attached Not only can most of these units be used in the winter; a lot of them feature a fan only mode that comes in handy during the warmer months. The fan only mode can be used instead of a ceiling fan to create a recirculated cool air barrier keeping the cool air in and the warm air out. These units are optimal for residential, store or other small area heating requirements. The larger industrial units also recirculate air from above in larger spaces and are generally mounted to the ceiling using optional mounting brackets or a field constructed angle iron bracket for extra security. Most of our larger down flow heater selection feature built-in temperature controls and are constructed of a stainless steel cabinet featuring a control compartment with a hinged and latched access door. A corrosion resistant heating element is enclosed into steel sheaths with permanently attached steel fins providing maximum heat transfer to the air stream. Single phase and 3-phase permanently lubricated, thermally protected motors are totally enclosed and all models are equipped with a fan purge allowing the fan to operate after the elements are de-energized, purging residual heat. Many of the down flow heaters we offer are equipped with a manual reset thermal cutout that disconnects the elements and motor in the event normal operating temperatures are exceeded, providing additional safety while preventing overheating the unit or area.We not only offer a generous selection of down flow heaters, we also offer a choice of optional diffusers to include radial louvered cone diffusers, linear louvered diffusers and anemostat diffusers, for a variety of air patterns that maximize heat concentration and coverage within any environment or setting. Our experienced and knowledgeable support representatives are available to assist with any questions you may have in selecting the right down flow heater to meet your specific needs.
