Electric infrared heaters heat specific obejects with the use of infrared wavelengths and do not heat air. Typically, an electric infrared heater will heat a filament that is protected with a quartz glass tube which becomes the primary source of heat. The heat is transfered to the object heating the object. Infrared heaters are typically used in patio areas, entrance areas, workshops, and warehouses where it is most effiecient to heat an object or person.
