The 2.1 gallon tank provides a reservoir for the water to expand and is capable of maintaining safe pressures in a domestic water heating system that utilizes a backflow preventer or check valve. A 100% Butyl Rubber Diaphragm in conjunction with a polypropylene liner separates the system water from the tank's air pre-charge, effectively eliminating built up system pressure. It's steel clench ring regulates movement while preventing the diaphragm from rubbing against the tank wall ensuring durability as well as reliability.
