Pilgrim's Rectangular Non-Tapered Fireplace Grate model 18608 is designed specifically for large fireplaces. It is quite unique because of its self feeding lower center design. This extra heavy duty fireplace grate is 17 inches in depth with a 4 1/2 inch clearance. The taller back bars feed the logs into the middle of the fireplace grate as the fire starts. It is constructed of sturdy-3/4" by 1 1/8" diamond steel bars using an electro-forging process that produces superior grates. It is made of best quality materials. It is very convenient to use.
