Portable baseboard heaters are an excellect heating option if your current heating system is inadequate. Portable heating units can be used in multiple areas to heat a single room or small area. Baseboard heaters with thermostats or timers can be more efficient since they can be set to shut off at a desired temperature or time. Portable heaters can be a cost effecitve heating solution since they are low priced and easy to install; simply plug them in and turn them on. Generally, an electric portable baseboard heater will produce just over 5000 btu's (British Thermal Units) which can heat a 15' x 15' square foot room. A heater's effectiveness is always dependent on the room's insullation; the better the insullation, the more effective the heater.
