What is a ventless fireplace ?
Vent-free or ventless fireplaces are fireplaces that do not require a chimney or an installed vent of any kind. A vent-free fireplace pulls combustion air from within the home, and exhausts into the home as well. It will have no vent whatsoever. With the flexibility that a ventless fireplace provides comes the need to monitor oxygen levels within the air. Using special sensors called oxygen depletion sensors, that come with most ventless fireplace models, the oxygen levels are monitored and the unit will automatically shut off if it senses dangerous levels. Also make sure that any area you move the fireplace to is safe, make sure nothing flammable is in the area. Also make sure to keep children and pets away from the fireplace and any hot surfaces.
